Maybe Donald and Vlad are going to ride on the White Pass & Yukon railroad. I heard it's a wonderful and scenic route through Alaska. Some parts are down right romantic. Maybe they will make out and forge a peace treaty while enjoying a nice train ride. Then maybe they will run a train on each other in the local hotel.

It's because Trump is inherently pro-Russia, and this symbolises exactly that.

Many Russians still, to this date, have posters about Alaska belonging to Russia. Trump looks extremely weak allowing this meeting to take place in Alaska, and it is a MAJOR victory for Russian propaganda, and many people will see it as giving legitimacy for Russia's historical claims.

Now why US would voluntarily give a propaganda victory to one of its adversaries is beyond all logic and reason. The only reasonable explanation is that the current president is Kremlin's puppet.

Perhaps because there is a shared border there. However, I was surprised that it wasn't supposed to take place in a neutral country. If I were Putin, I wouldn't have been the first to travel to the opposing country, and vice versa, of course. Power games. Maybe Trump thought it was worth a try. But this isn't really the time for games.
