very inspired by the original LOZ, but with randomisation elements.

for 3d "zelda-likes" you should of course play the immaculate okami

Crusader of Centy for the Sega genesis is cool, but I'd suggest you buy a Sega Genesis Mini 2 if you can rather than the original cart which is insanely expensive at this point, in part 'cause Sega had Atlus publish it. I mean, I guess it's not technically indie since it is a Sega game, but it is rather niche and obscure.

Also this:

There's a sequel if you're looking for something more 3D but I haven't played it. It's basically top-down zelda except isometric.

I don't know what "zelda-like" actually means (if someone could explain it WITHOUT referring to Nintendo's Zelda games...), but putting the term into Google returned a Steam curator for "zelda-like" games as the top result:

Idk if it’s indie but Fenyx Rising was good enough to actually beat.

It looks like woke garbage.

I saw this one and even played the initial demo from itchio but thought it was a clone of zelda. And the game is still obscure to this day.

Adventure Time: The Secret Of The Nameless Kingdom

The second one has been completely delisted from Steam. Sad. Probably the best Zelda clone I've ever played.

Also, 'Ittle Dew' got a sequel.

It's a side-scroller but still has Zelda vibes all throughout. Dirt-cheap too, and it's actually pretty funny.

Willow for the NES.

Not quite a Zelda-like, but scratches a lot of the same itches.

There's a sequel but it isn't as good imo.
