It depends on how they raise the dead, do you bind a soul to the body, or use some other magic to animate the dead. If a necromancer had a necrophilia fetish, he would be one of the happiest practitioner of the arts. In the end most of them seem to end up as one of the undead, so their retirement plans suck.

Great class to play as. Usually overpowered, too.

In Minecraft they equip zombies with swords and armor and gather a great horde of them.
They're fearsome opponents, if they unleash their undead legions upon a wandering or unsuspecting Steve.

It's a shame it takes so much effort to set this thing up correctly, but you can play this class in several games. At least theoretically you can. Even if they don't feature a necromancer class in a game, you can still play as something that at least remotely resembles a necromancer playing-style. That is, if you're knowledgable enough about classes and the various roles that they can play as, and what they can and cannot do.
