No, and they never were.

If anything, we now live in an age when even the few things that were mandatory (sensible financial management and good discipline) have been thrown in the trash and you can now become a millionaire in a couple of days by posting nudes of yourself, so...

Mostly, yes.
Theoretically no, but usually yes. If a person can live at home 5 years after school, saving money, it would go a long way to buying a house, and saving in interest alone would help build wealth.

Without a doubt, absolutely. Unless you have a 500 IQ and can figure out how to build hyper driver engines and cure AIDS in your down time, then making money should be no problem.
