Imagine buying a toy for your kid. After a year the toy disintegrates to dust. The toy was still good and the kid still liked it. But the company decided you cant have it any longer.
"Yes I'll have the....placeholder steak? What's that?"
"Oh that used to be our special, it was top sirloin."
"Ooo that sounds good, I'll have that."
"Right-o. I'll be back with your order."
*comes back, puts empty plate on table*
"Where's the steak?"
"It's on the menu."

I have flash games on my computer that I can play using Ruffle, a flash emulator. I downloaded my favorite flash games when flash became deprecated and it's offensive to me that it was deprecated in the first place. Flash still works just fine.
You're arguing for planned obsolescence, and it's an inherently evil thing.
