There is over 50,000 branches of Christianity... each with their own assumptions and rough English translations. Given they are all based upon the moral and ethical values of Jesus. Quite a few bible teachings are metaphors.

Whatever the case, just avoid Christofasism, which is someone who places themselves above God's word and the law... such as the Man of Lawlessness Anti-Christ, commonly known as Trump / MAGA. Pretty everything they do will be against the original teachings and morals/ethical values.
