🌟🌟Common Traits of Capitalism and Narcissism 👀
Very Interesting

I asked AI to list list some common traits capitalism and narcisism have in common..
..And the result listed below is what Artificial Intelligence had to say: 🤔

- Self-centered pursuit of gain Capitalism rests on the assumption that individuals act to maximize their own material benefit, mirroring the narcissist’s grandiose focus on self-importance and personal achievement.

- Sense of entitlement Corporations and capital owners often assert special privileges—tax breaks, regulatory favors, sovereign immunity—just as narcissists believe they deserve unearned admiration and preferential treatment.

- Exploitative relationships Capitalism treats labor and nature as commodities to be extracted for profit; narcissists reduce people to tools for feeding their self-worth, instrumentalizing others without regard for their needs.

- Lack of genuine empathy In capitalist systems, social costs (pollution, inequality, burnout) are externalized onto communities and the environment. Likewise, narcissists are clinically marked by an inability to empathize with others’ feelings or perspectives.

- Endless accumulation and growth The logic of capitalism demands perpetual expansion—more production, more consumption, more profit. Narcissists similarly require unlimited admiration and validation, always craving a next “win” to sustain their inflated self-image.

- Commodification of social bonds Under capitalism, even friendship, health care, and education become market transactions. Narcissists commodify relationships as “narcissistic supply,” engaging only insofar as others bolster their self-esteem.

- Hyper-competitive individualism Competition is hailed as the engine of progress in capitalist ideology. Narcissists constantly measure themselves against peers, seeking to outshine everyone around them to confirm their supposed superiority.

Surely these parallels shape workplace culture, politics and personal well-being Off Topic?

Correct. You cannot have ethical capitalism. We need a third option. Something like... social nationalism?
