The first mistake you are making is you are grouping people. There are laid back people here, too. You just refuse to see them because you have an innate bias to a certain period in time.

I'm betting if you look hard enough you will be finding some of those not so laid back posts as well.

Besides, Obama was President back then. I know at least one person who would have stood up to them.

Gen x make more money than gen z

The problems we face now are bigger and more controversial than ever in my opinion. There was less to stress about back in 2012 / 2015.

well, gen x grew up with the realization that you need to take care of yourself because no one else is going to give a ♥♥♥♥ about you, it's called the latchkey generation for a reason.

The Post Truth Era began in 2016, defined as the point where opinion trumps fact. People just began denying reality (also called alt-reality) and put their opinions (usually based on a youtuber or influencer) as being truth. As a result we have an overflow of nonsense flooding the internet giving the impression people are much more stupid than we would have thought possible. It's like waking up one morning to find everyone reverted back to believing the earth is flat.
Internet was heralded as ushering a new age of enlightenment while the opposite happened.

I still remember when I first started posting in the BG3 forum. It was a massive shift from all forums before that. The forum was more about politics than the actual game.
