Happy birthday, GoldenEye!
On this day in 1997, the game GoldenEye 007 was released for the Nintendo 64. Although Perfect Dark is technically a better game, I've always liked GoldenEye more. Have you played it?

i never owned it, but every summer my cousin would come over to visit and brought all his consoles and stuff so we'd play 007 and rampage world tour and w/e else.

bought the wii remake at one point, but iirc it's activision and i think it plays like COD a bit, to my memory. i only really played it once when i had a group of people to do splitscreen with and it just wasn't a worthy remake at all, imo.
The main impression Goldeneye left me with was the comical AI that would immediately combat roll on sight of the player. If you walked into a room with several enemies, sometimes they'd do it in perfect sync, and that just got to me lol

I vaguely recall playing mp with friends but much less than I remember Perfect Dark for that aspect.
Never had Nintendo.
One of the best MP games with my brother and two sisters. Oddjob lets goooo
Feel free to celebrate for exactly 5 minutes... the same amount of time Bond gave 006 in Russia.

Perhaps someday if we're lucky enough we will see a Perfect Dark remake or sequel? :lunar2020thinkingtiger: I think the new 007 game is being made by Square Enix, and they've handled the new Hitman games, gameplay wise at least very well.

Edit: Just found out that Microsoft owns the Perfect Dark IP, well there goes my hope for a remake or a sequel :steamsad:

Played it on my brothers N64 and then saw the movie on TV not long after. It was my first exposure to the Bond films and it was great.
I'd like a good remaster with mouselook and stuff. I had a bit of fun with the goldeneye reloaded remake but I didn't feel like it's the same thing really. Luckily I did play No One Lives Forever though.
