It really depends on what it is and the game itself.

I think it's fine and usually buy it if it's actually substantial and it doesn't feel like the base game is lacking on its own and the DLC is required to make it feel "complete." Basically what would have been called an "expansion pack" back in the day.

Other stuff, I'll usually skip until it's discounted or all sold as a bundle.

That too, plus there were more clans in the original game that they did not include in this game which is ridiculous.

They locked 2 clans behind a day 1 paywall which is a terrible move.

I'm starting to think they are just trying to milk us of money so that they can make up for their financial losses during development hell. I remember this game was cancelled several times, many developers and publishers refusing to take it on and finally someone decided to complete the game. This game was picked up and dropped several times while in development hell. I think this is just a move to recover their financial losses.

I'm just gonna wait till reviews and see what people say before buying it.

There's no malkavian? Probably means the writers suck then. And yeah, the development issues don't inspire confidence either.

Fabian (the detective aka the narrator and the voice in your head) is a malkavian but he's not really your character, he's just someone you play as in side missions.

Honestly, I played the original when it came out and I wished they would just remaster that. I loved the original bloodlines. Old is Gold.

The original dev's are long gone though, I wonder what they think about this 2nd game.

It's crazy but truth is the original bloodlines which is a 20 year old game is much better than this new one.

So they've gone with a johnny silverhand thing? Hm, I avoid trailers and previews because I like everything fresh and to judge for myself without hype or preconceptions so I don't really know anything about it. I'll wait to see how stable it is and if it has major complaints or not before I buy.

I find it scary that many development studios picked up this title then dropped it multiple times, as if they were all scared to touch it, imagine the amount of money that was wasted while it was sitting in developmental hell for years and years. The Chinese Room had the guts to pick it up and finish it though, I guess I can give them props for that.

Still though, after 20 years of waiting for a sequel to the original bloodlines, I would have assumed we would have gotten a more famous and well-known developer for this type of game.

I don't know how game development works, I am not a game developer, but this is just my opinion on it.

Yeah, you are right, it is definitely concerning. The whole project must have been a mess to try to figure out plus I think they scrapped a lot of the original writing and changed the whole direction of the game iirc.

They also changed the pre-order items.

I remember originally when the game was up for preorder in 2018 or 2019, the preorder items were Smiling Jack and Jeanette's outfit and Gimble Prosthetics severed arm weapon skin, all from the original game but that was removed. Then a 2nd preorders thing happened this time where they removed the previous preorder items and added some other things like 2 dual pistols, a jacket, etc then that was removed, then the game got cancelled and then we didn't hear anything about it for 2+ years, it was officially cancelled at that point then again we had news that some other developer decided to pick up the title.

The words "I love Paradox!" surely sent shivers down the spines of any grand strategy fans out there. I don't dislike them, but if you know them, this shouldn't be a surprise.

I'll listen to an unbiased review and enjoy the visuals, but words cannot describe my skepticism on this one.

If they can sell Lasombra and Toreador as DLC, wait until they sell you Nosferatu, Malkavian and Gangrel clans, probably $20 per clan. Lol this is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

They are literally selling us integral game content for money, what in the heck is going on...Clans shouldn't be sold as dlc content, they should already be in the base game just like it was in bloodlines original.

It sucks that this is normalized, micro transactions are normalized, fake f2p whaling is normalized, gachas are normalized...

Makes one wonder what will be the next disgusting $cumtactic to ruin the gaming space.

i remember when they bought prison architect, it was right around the same time i bought it. MOMENT i found out i refunded lmao, and thank ♥♥♥♥ for that. game went to ♥♥♥♥ not long after, as i predicted u_u
