When will Trump finally annex Japan and make it the 51st US state?
I mean, the country is absolutely defenseless and relies on U.S. protection against China.
So why not bypass the responsibility and make it part of the U.S.?

Easy pickings.

defenseless? japan has giant mecha, shonen heroes with god like super powers and armies of yokai.
Another warmonger thread maybe solve your domestic problems first before you go on the war path

japan is harder to take than canada

if japanese accept to become american ok you right

but if japanese refuse to become american you face major problem, russia and china can support without problem japanese against usa, it mean sea of china and sea of japan going to be very hostile against us navy and us air base in japan are gone

Japan isn't nearly white enough to be outright annexed.

The are already american military basis in Japan so their govt and population have basically nothing to say.

Cost.
Why would the US need to own it and put administrators through it that private enterprise does not do already?

There would be huge costs in changing laws and getting them to be accepted.
Yakuza would rise again.
Prison / legal system would be a major overhaul - people think the US system sucks?
Check Japan's way of doing things on that vein.

If it were me as the heart of the USA, I would build bases in Japan, they don't have to like it.
And around the currently known 'South China Sea'.
The areas would also be expected to provide 'garrison' soldiers. US trained locals to act as marshals if anything should happen and as first line of defences alongside the US Navy personnel.

It wouldn't be Imperialism, that had rights attached.

But if apparently trump can make that all happen without any problems when taking Canada, why should japan be an issue?

Just send a few green men who allegedly want to protect English speakers in Japan and take it over island by island. No shots need to be fired.

lol if you think canada is so easy, you going to face similar problem than ukrainian or mossad infiltrator when they sabotage and assassinate
better chance would be the Japanese Empire In The Hollow Earth emerging to the surface and absorbing Japan + USA into one Giant Yamato Empire
Japan already took over the world culturally.
but its no empire, which the above solution will remedy :)
In HOI IV, I did just that when playing as US. As for China, got nuked to death due to interference. :steammocking:
