What if Donald Trump became the president at 1933 in place of Franklin D. Roosevelt?
He would use military to deal with the one-out-of-four unemployed people. There would be national riots, insurgency, and chaos. And then Pearl Harbor. And we are really screwed.

With Trump's admiration of Dictators and his way of sabotaging everything national while shouting how good he is doing.

Pearl Harbour would have been a disaster for the US.
I doubt he would have allowed the ships to escape before the attack.
But then Japan may not have needed to sink the US Navy because of Trump's so called isolationism ie 'save my own ass at your expense hahaha' policy.

Europe would receive supplies at even greater cost.
China would have been dominated even more by Japanese soldiers and their brutality.

Britain would have held off the Nazis even if the Battle of Britain (over the seas) had lost.

BUT the danger would be without a Supreme Commander of exceptional intelligence the war against Germany would have slogged out a lot more throughout Europe and Soviet Union would have likely taken hold and thus the USA would be severely weakened throughout the 20th Century.
Without Japan as a solid base, and with Britain either holding its own with some allies and the Commonwealth the USA would have a hostile North and unpredictable South - that was growing in Soviet strength.

- kinda like what he has managed to do /set the ball rolling with exceptional speed in the 21st century.

Isolationists don't sign all the trade deals the US has been signing.
