How old is too OLD for video games?
Hey guys,

I'm 16, almost turning 17, and am in quite a bit of a dilemma. I feel like I am getting out of the video-gaming age. Everyone around me who plays games are usually 9-12 year olds, and they are in fact better than me at the very games I enjoy most. Also, I don't like how society has a negative view of older gamers...and most girls share the same view. My friends have started to join sports teams and some are already going on college campus visits.

I don't know what to do. What's your opinion for the age cut-off?

Thank you very much.

Whatever age you die at. "Too old" for games is a ridiculous concept.
200,000 years old. Good luck getting there.

The average gamer is 35, btw.

And it seems to keep going up.

Exactly this.

How old is TOO old for TV?
there is no such thing as too old for gaming ive been playing since before i could remember and im 16 now and have no intrest in stoping any time soon if you enjoy playing games then theres no reason to not play them if "society" looks at gamers funny then let them i belive it doesnt matter what other people think as long as you like it.
and dont get me started on the girl subject >_> but there are plenty of girl gamers out there as well if thats one thing you are worried about.

and thats my look on that.

"Too old" is when you're dead.

And yes, the average gamer age is >30 years old.

I wouldn't care what everyone else is doing; do what feels right to you. I've never given into this 'everyone else is doing Y so why am I doing X' mentality.

I'm 27. I've gamed since I was 6, perhaps younger. I do what I want, I take up hobbies that I like and I don't give a hoot what society thinks. By my age the lifescript says I should be married with at least one child and planning another. I'm unmarried, I have no children and I'll get married on my own time.

You are not to old for gaming.

If you live for what others say you 'should' do you'll wake up at 45 miserable because you cared more about other peoples views of you than your view of yourself.
You can never be too old for video games.
Take up skydiving without parachutes once you're done gaming

Is this your sick-twisted way to find out ages of females to pursue? I read between the lines, and I am quite bored with your words, and ways to draw attention to yourself!

One does not simply "Become too old for gaming".

Yes, he is correct! My great-uncle Johannes is 79 and he plays Angry Birds on his iPhone!!! So, if he isn't old, then.............

"Too old for video games" is your own definition. For me, it is never. THIS IS SPARTA!!! My comrades also agree with what I just said.
