Dedicated TF2 servers disconnect each other from steam
Hi,

I'm attempting to run two dedicated servers from my CentOS 7 linux box. Everytime I start the second server, the first one loses it's connection to steam.

Both servers have are using their own unique tf_server_identity_account_id and
tf_server_identity_token.

I can see this in the startup:
Server #1: L 07/09/2016 - 18:40:47: Successfully logged into gameserver account 291417.
Server #2: L 07/09/2016 - 18:43:15: Successfully logged into gameserver account 313394.

When the second server starts, I see this on the other servers window:
Connection to Steam servers lost. (Result = 34)

Server #1 is started using -port 27015
Server #2 is started using -port 27016

Does anyone know why the servers knock each others steam connections off?

Thanks!

Are you using only one installation to run these 2 servers?
If yes I'd give it a try to make 2 separate folders/installations.

Thanks,

I gave it a shot, using a second different account on the machine, but i'm still getting the same results.

For CentOS 6.7 I found it was a good idea to make separate CentOS login accounts for my servers. I log in as each server and and run them inside 'screen'. So far it's worked out okay.

Edit: Also it's way better if you have one hlds installation per server installation.

That said, CentOS may not be the best choice right now for starting up new servers as I've heard that valve is moving HLDS to Debian based machines in the not-too-distant future. They said that the TF2 under CentOS 6.7 will not be supported and will most likely break. Not sure how CentOS 7 will fare.

If you have any other questions you can send me a friend request.

Best Regards,

Coin0p

The latest version of CentOS, Debian or Ubuntu is reccomended as game servers tend to work better with newer distros
