SDK - Hammer editor ( texture check)
How do i check a texture that is currently used on an item. Like is there a way to check properties, which shows the current texture used.
Thanks in advance

PS. Seems like a very simple problem , but i cant find it anywhere

Do you mean for a prop or a brush? For a prop you would have to look it up in the games files, for a brush you can use the face select tool to check.

Google "SDK Docs" and take a look around in the Materials section. Whether you are talking about a model or a texture for the blocks in the map (aka brushes), you use materials to give them properties like color, sound effects (what sound to make when it drops or gets shot), gibs (what comes out when it breaks), etc.

For models, you can use the model viewer (place a prop_static and choose a World Model in the properties). Some models have different skins (like a light bulb with an "on" and "off" skin for lit and dark); you can name the prop and use I/O to change the skins manually. For brushwork, you can just click on the Texture Browser and look around.
