Source SDK/Hammer issues with newest update
I'm having an issue with trying to load up hammer, i have followed the instructions that i have found on you're guys forums and on other web pages and to my prevail, they didn't work I'm still getting the same error. the error message says " The configuration information for the game you're trying to edit is invalid or missing." Like i said, i have already tried to refresh SDK content and reset game configurations, then after doing that Ive tried to play the game for a little bit, then tried to upload Hammer, but it still gave me the same message, then i uninstalled DOD:S and reinstalled it, then tried it again, but it still didn't work, then uninstalled and reinstalled source SDK and it still gave me the same message, then i uninstalled and reinstalled steam with DOD:S and source SDK and followed the steps again, and i still received the same message, at this point I'm lost and don't know what to do, please give me an answer that will work.

sdk is broken since the steam pipe conversion. No one has any answers as of yet. Steam / Source needs to fix there update.

I have been able to work on my map, by move everything over to the EP2 engine.

I thought about that. I did set up for EP2 engine and was ok. I just wish they would fix. Thanks though.

i really hate valve right now, i love mapping more so then playing the game, VALVE IF YOUR READING THIS, MAKE A NEW UPDATE TO FIX YOUR SCREW UP!!!!!!!!

Yeah same to me blackbird and all other Source SDK is broken im mapping for DOD:S after ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steampipe for what the hell we need this damn update :S...so valave PLEASE DO A UPDATE. Please guys msg all the support about it i did it but no answare now so if more msg them we have more luck they update it. For me would be also no problem if i need buy source sdk but I JUST WANT IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!.....

iam mess up here cant load hammer total reinstalled sdk source/hammer wont work. valve ceo really needs to fire some people.

Never seen so many updates and screw ups this year and last year i have been playing this game for years half life 2 deathmatch cant even select a different player in the game now it is screw up/ sdk source hammer screwed up cant select anything i reset config severals times dont work reinstalled everything on new hard drive still dont work

We are all in the same boat. Try selecting EP2 in the source sdk as stated above at least that works until a fix is released.

what if you dont have EP2, i went through all my files and i couldnt find the EP2 file

We have just made a topic on GitHub. You may of heard of this site, but the source of it actually came from the word of Valve - asking us to post all bug reports there.

We just posted this: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/287 Which informed them of why source sdk is not working in as detailed a way possible.

Please, please, please reply to the topic to keep it bumped up to the top, and type all your (positive, well spelt and gramatically correct) feedback there - so that they are more likely to read it.

Dont be afraid to make your own topics too - signing up on that site is simple - and seeing as valve said about it https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7388-QPFN-2491, its definatly worth a shot.

what its stopping you from doing >

What i think valve is doing is making a problem so people will stop using it because they are getting ready to release a new version of it for possibly a new game, like maybe a new Day of Defeat, or maybe even half - life 3, who knows but thats my point of view on it.

was forced to convert (or something, forgot the verb used) for CS:S, play for a few hours, now Hammer won't run

The configuration information for the game you're trying to edit is invalid or missing

resolved that errori by editing GameConfig with new directory

upon trying to load/create a map, the Scheme error appears and it closes itself

We're going to fix the SDK. We've no intention of discontinuing it.
We should have most of the problems related to SteamPipe fixed in the next week or so.
