Source SDK and Source Engine Guides?

Hi everyone i want to make a source mod... i read some guides but they were, how to say, "incomplete"... They didn't explain anything, they just say "do that and that" without a reason. Do exist clear guides (also books or websites) that explain (if possible with simple terminology or in italian) about how Source Engine precisely works?? Thanks.

Sorry not a whole lot in that regard, there are some books available but I wouldn't recommend them (noesis ones are pretty bad).

If you need help setting up your mod we got some bare bones working builds in our sidebar over at /r/SourceEngine

I recommend downloading either HL2 DM base code or HL2 SP and just messing around with it so you can see what you can do. If you need help with anything there is quite a few communities you can post questions to
