Where Should I Save Hammer Files After The Steampipe Conversion ? [TF2]
I was having problems running maps I made in hammer in TF2 after the steampipe conversion. Then I learn steampipe moved the file location of .bsp files.
It was a simple fix. i just had to move the .bsp files
From Here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\username\team fortress 2\tf\maps\mapname.bsp
To Here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\team fortress 2\tf\maps\mapname.bsp

BUT.. Where Should I Be Saving The .vmf Files In Hammer?
Right now I'm saving them at this location:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\username\sourcesdk_content\tf\mapsrc\mapname.vmf

I know this location is wrong because whenever i run map it has no effect on .bsp files that are in the new location.

steam pipe moved all the files of the game to your common folder so you will need to save .bsp's to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\team fortress 2\tf\maps
it doesnt matter where you save the .vmf's

also you should use the sdk tools beta instead of sorce sdk launcher. valve is not using the launcher anymore, follow this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTaUMZuWs-U

Thank You! The video was very helpful and fixed issue i was having. :)

I've noticed even when I run hammer straight from sdk and move the .bsp file to the new location my map doesnt update when i run map again. So the only way for hammer to work without problems is to follow the video's instructions
