What Do You Hate About Source SDK?
The one thing I hate about Source SDK is the constant crashing. Can't stand working on a Source SDK map and then losing all my work because it crashed for some stupid reason like opening up the Model Viewer. So share what you hate about Source SDK and what can be improved.

You do know that Hammer autosaves your work on Drive C: Right? Sometimes like: C:\HammerAutosave.
Hope it saves you a lot of headakes, however it is sad that it crases so often, but overall it's fun an easy to use.

well since, for now i only work with game models I use almost only the 3d model viewer. Not much to hate about it since it's not an overlly compilcated piece of software (i'm not saying it wasn't hard to code). It's pretty well made but for the ocassional random crashing and the aweful library browser.

There's still no OS X support in the "latest" SDK version -> no mods for OS X users (please let's not get into OS arguments here)!

I think that the developers are lazy or they don't have the time to make it OS X Compatible. It would be nice if it was OS X Compatible.

I think UDK is easier to use but SDK is easier to get your work out there

I hate everything about it. Too broken and obsolete for my taste.

Mainly I have a problem with the whole asset creation/importing pipeline. Just feels too clunky and fiddgety compared to other packages nowadays, such as UDK. I wish I could just directly import an .FBX file without having to write .vmt's, .qc's and then praying for them to work. Hunting down .qc errors is not fun.

An overall bugfix would be amazing.
Just a big update keeping everything up to date.

I agree 100%
They need to update the hell out of it.

Valve always had 1 problem: updates. Looks like they don't test them. A new product update can add 1 feature and break loads of others. This happened many times to CS:S, TF2, Garry's Mod... But these are games, and a new update comes in a few days and it fixes bugs that previous update created.
But talking about SDK. Valve updates it once a year, when they gotta add new awesome feature. I remember when they added TF2 itemtest tool in SDK, and Hammer got broken.
How long does it take to the next update? Right now, after CS:GO/CS:GO SDK releases and thing, many people can't type some symbols in model filter. Stupid and annoying bug, but we have to wait for a long time before the new update comes out. I'm sure we gotta wait for CS:GO 2 or something...

Every time I want to run a map it stops responding and I have to wait 100 years for it to continue.

I can't load most of my maps in hammer without it crashing. Which is laaame.
