Map is Always Bright?
I'm trying to make a 100% pitch-black map. Basically it's a giant hollow cube, but when I run it, it's always stuck on fullbright. I've tried disabling fullbright, but it won't disable. I've tried putting a light in the level, but that doesn't work. What the heck am I doing wrong?

You must've put the light in wrong. A map with a light will be, well, lit by that light. Restart the game, too... Sometimes it leaves fullbright on between maps.

The light's brightness is set to 200, and it's red. I'm not seeing how that's much of a problem. No leaks in my map at all, and four water areas.

When I did level design I found that to make a fully dark map I usually had to make a second small room off the playable map (unacessiable to players without noclip), stick a normal light in that room. and then rebuild the map for it to make a completely dark map on the playing area.

I fixed it. Lightmaps were too large.

I was having the same problem, I did was Sora said and it fixed it. Anyone know why this happens?

Apparently maps need at least one ligh entity shining a light on a surface for VRAD to run.
