Do they have Hammer for Mac???
i would love to start mapping its been a wanted hobby of mine ever since duke3D, in fact i converted the x-fire map to HL2 and asked someone on irc to skybox it cause i am inexperienced

No, Hammer's tied to Windows pretty tightly, unfortunately.

Hammer i only for windows at the moment, idk if they will make it to a mac. but I know that on macs you can split your driver and make it also windows 7 ( or what you choose) and mac on the same pc..

the sdk tool containsonly win x86 programs, vtex and studiomdl too, and idem with the map compiler tools ( vvis vbsp, and vrad)

yep unity is great, if you want to create an fps game with it, you can download the bootcamp ressources assets on their web site, it a good start if you won't to write all thegame code yourself. there is a ASW game like, that is provide with the indie version of unity, and its free.
