Can't purchase games as I can't enter card number.
When I click to enter card number or security code ( any text field ) it goes back to the type of card selection. Just me? I've restarted steam, reinstalled steam, signed in and out, and tried external keyboard / mouse, no dice.

Yes same issue here. I'm on an M1 MacBookPro18,3.

Try not to buy the game, but top up account and then buy, using the money on account.

Same, also on M1 mac. Can't input payment info. Also my payment info used to be saved, where the hell did it go?

Thanks. I just bought it using the web interface which worked.

Yeah, I can't pay for a game using Mac either... seriously? You don't want me to buy things?

Still a problem. I was able to pay in-application by PayPal, but I'd rather just pay directly.

I just encountered this problem. The problem is the three popup menus (card type, month and year) keep stealing keyboard focus and clicking away doesn't de-focus them correctly. It is possible to switch away from the app and click repeatedly on text fields to defocus the popups but I can't get it to happen reliably.

I recommend entering every other field first, then setting the three popups. Text fields will not correctly show focus when they are selected but it does work.

Cmd tabbing back and forth usually fixes input fields.

Unless Steam decides to reload the store page when it gains focus, no matter what you had open when you switched away. Which for example prevents you from entering a steamguard code. Or from seeing the 3d secure popup after you managed to fill the credit card number and stuff in spite of Steam trying very hard to prevent you from that.

Seriously, it's like they don't want us to use Steam on Macs.

Btw, this is not new, the credit card input field focus problems have been here all year for me, while the auto go to store when gaining focus problem is 'only' 2-3 months old.

This remains an issue in March of 2024. No luck in the app on my 2021
MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip running macOS Sonoma 14.3.1

Follow-up, as soon as I logged in here (via browser) to post the above, the Mac *app* unlocked the card number fields to allow for entry. Weird.

Same issue here! I just wanted to buy a game but couldn't update my card info. Now I'll never buy another game on Steam again because I can't. I wonder how much money they're losing on this dumb glitch.

I'm not testing it right now, but just as a reminder on the off chance it might help anybody, Steam accepts paypal and you can use pay through them using a credit card without even needing to sign into an account.

Yeah I had the same issue, so I bypassed it by using my PayPal account to buy a game. Dumb that you can't even input credit card information in.
I also have this issue, I was able to put payment info in the browser.
