Error "Steam Needs To Be Online To Update"
I have a MacBook Pro 13-inch mid 2012, I updated it to Mojave to be able to play on Steam because previously I was getting the same error and it continues to do so. Do you know of a solution?

Do you recommend switching to another version of Mac? I'm new to Mac, and I was previously on High Sierra and upgraded to Mojave for the same reason. I can give you my Mac's specs. Thanks.

Since Steam no longer supports macOS Mojave or earlier, it would be advisable to upgrade to a more recent macOS version if your Mac is capable of handling it. I recommend updating to at least macOS Catalina (which is 10.15), as this is the minimum version that Steam will officially support moving forward.

If you want to play Steam games yes but there are other stores like GOG where you can download offline installers to your old Mac through their website instead of a launcher. You can't play any new games though with your Mac.

Another solution is to install 10.15 Catalina on a new volume/partition on your drive. Then you can install all your games on an external drive, go in offline mode in Steam client in Catalina and then restart your Mac with 10.14 Mojave. Then you can try to launch your old 32-bit games directly from the Steam folder. You may then not need to start Steam in 10.14. Here is an article about it:

If you don't play old 32-bit games you just can use 10.15 for gaming.
