Now, i know you're just a troll. Not everyone here is a "serious" gamer, not everyone needs a windows machine. All my gaming needs are met using a mac so why would i switch to a system that's worse in every way but gaming for me?
But still isn't that bad to play on a Maximum 95Watts just to see that the Mac M4 can do way better than your 4000 bucks pc for gaming and desktop ?
Yes some games runs better on this thing than your PC that use 900W+ to run it with the same quality.
Yes Windows isn't available as a DualBoot on Apple silicon Macs but you can install Asashi Linux and just use Wine as a Translation layer with another x86 to arm64 layer other than Rosetta.
But, Mac are Desktop and productivity based, that why students just pay Macs for school and studios pay Macs and software without subscription to make content, they are just a bunch of working features and efficiency that the Mac give to software and you control what you want to do with it. Seeing people like me or you wanted to play on this thing is totally normal, remember playing on a Nokia phone, the thing that was used to only be a phone, like just calling and answering someone. At that time, nobody thought that games that are on x86 computer would ever run in a pocket, well that is now possibles lmao and most people wouldn't believe at it.
So Mac turns, it would be totally fine to make games and run games on it, Minecraft Bedrock runs pretty well on it, CyberPunks with some graphical issues but it's playable in medium or high quality, older games from 2024 or past works well on it. This things is supposed to be an every day computer to run task, not game, and it do it well even if it's not officially supported.
Yes macOS is still under 2% of the steam user, but linux also was inferior of 2%
I'm not reading any comments, I'm not here to feed something bad, but I just don't understand why some people are angry just by the way that some use that phone, other use computer or that kind of console...
"Oh so you're on the Switch 2, you probably are a kid lmao" nah stop it that's false, people buy those consoles because it's more affordable, because they got lots of games on it, or because they mostly just want to play something.
Are you going to stop me if I play like a kid with rocks and papers or if I draw something that you don't like you gonna bless me ?
That's wild, this thread must be renamed to "I don't understand why people buy Macs to games on it" or simply remove it.
it means nothing when you said "Get a PC.", yes surely, I got my Macbook M4 14" 24G Ram and 1 To of Storage capacity. I also got my huge brick that runs ArchLinux, Steam installed, 32 Gib of Ram, 8 To of storage, also got a Ubuntu Server and an iPhone XS that run well for every days task, music and else (and yes it can receive and call people).
Are you blaming me to play on the platform I want to play because I prefer to be on it and not paying anything else to Microsoft or ♥♥♥♥♥♥ company like Adobe ?
No, you're not blaming anyone on earth to say which platform must be the real good one to play. But just because you try to underhestimate Macs user :
Return to your cage on Windows 11 + Copilot that eat 15 % of your change each month and make you fell like you where a got but you aren't a god at all using this AI to do whatever you want with it. Continue to sell your soul to those companies, they make profit of you but you don't in return.
I like it, and to be honest, most users just tell that wine is emulation but it's not, you made it clear from the beginning, that's pretty neat I like.
Have a good day and see you
For 650 you get poor I/O, NO upgradability/repairability, poor game support, poor program suppport and as we've seen with Apple even poor Mac software support, and with the performance of a modest gaming PC from 5 years ago.
Not a great deal which is why Mac gaming is dead.
I concede to the idea that the I/O could be more plentiful (even though most Win Laptops at that price offer similar to less I/O) and it's not the most user repairable (oh wait... more and more Win systems are using soldered components too...)
Tell me you use your PC for nothing but gaming without explicitly saying it. Mac's are amazing workstations, especially at this price point. Try to build a PC for 600 that can do just as well at Video Editing and overall media production... go on... I'll wait.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go play RE Village on my M4 Mini at 1440p High at 60FPS.
Ciao!
I'd also note that the 5 year old base model M1 Air with only 8GB of RAM despite having more translation layers than the Steam Deck.. outperforms the Steam Deck (a device specifically built to play games on) in most games. My 4 year old M1 Pro outperforms the best gaming handhelds on the market and does so while being able to play at reasonable lengths of time without needing to be plugged in. Max and Ultra iGPUs are on par with gaming laptop dedicated GPUs... but again don't need to be plugged into the wall, so in some ways they are actually more of a gaming laptop than x86 gaming laptops.. as those are mobile gaming stations that need an outlet, without the outlet, actually being used as a laptop, they are weak coffee shop web browsing machines.
I enjoy about the same amount of games in my 600+ game library on CrossOver with my Mac as I do with my Steam Deck, however I can enjoy those games at higher resolutions and better FPS.
To put it plainly, you can buy Macs that are on par or better than PS5 and Xbox Series. You have more games on Mac than those consoles. Are you going to try to tell me that anyone that owns those consoles isn't gaming and they are not that bright because they are gaming on a machine that a Mac outperforms? No I don't think so. Macs are fine for gaming. They play a large number of games and the iGPUs put out plenty of performance. Just so happens they look nicer in a coffee shop than some giant plastic brick with rainbow lights flashing all over it like a little boys velcro sneakers.
Did you really post that Mac gaming is dead on the same day Valve released a native ARM64 Steam client for Mac. Windows has had ARM devices for 10 years and they still don't have an ARM native Steam client. Heck.. how long has 64 bit Windows been mainstream now.. and the Windows Steam client is still 32 bit.. dang.
Bro what?
This is the worst state Mac gaming has been in since the release of the original Macintosh.
Do you think a Native Steam launcher changes that?
How many Valve games are native M1? How many Valve games even play on the Mac now? Quick answer, 2 less than before with support dropping for more in the future (thanks to Apple).
Only a fanboy would try to claim Mac gaming is somehow on the up and up when its losing access to more titles than its getting. They killed of PPC programs and games, now its 32bit, next its x86.
Whats crazy is instead of appealing to Apple everyone here just claims its great while also asking "Whats Valve going to do to fix issues created by Apple?
