Native Steam Client Release Date
Steam Client is now available as a native application on Apple Silicon when you enable Beta Updates. But in order to get it, as far as I know, you first need to download the release version, which is an Intel application, then enable the beta. When can we expect to get the release version of the Apple Silicon client, without having to download the Intel version first?

that's a reason why I hold-off installing Steam on my device. I don't want to install Rosetta again (did a clean format) just to run Steam.
If Valve hasn't made a statement you aren't going to get any accurate information here.

People asked when CS2 was releasing for Mac and they kept getting told "February" and look how that turned out.
Check it once in a month. And block that prevous guy - he is ragebaiting here for a long time

Cool! I hope they provide an easy migration path from the current to the new client. I don't want to have to uninstall all my games + Steam just to reverse the process with the new client.

Current mac Steam app experience sucks so much it's better to use browser.

The steam client for mac still requires Rosetta at the moment :steamfacepalm:

Hilarious to see trolls trying to act snarky but being wrong twice again on the same topic and making a fool of themselves. You think they would stop digging deeper after the first time but they seem to never learn.

First they were preaching passionately for a long time about Valve having no responsibility whatsoever to update its Steam client because it was ”Apple’s job”. Then when Valve dropped a native Apple Silicon client beta they suddenly changed their mind and said Valve had been indeed working on a native Mac client.

Now they’re trying to convince us that a native final release of Steam may never happen despite the beta when Valve in fact 10 days ago updated Steam Helper app now running natively on Apple Silicon while waiting for the full release of the beta. You can’t make this nonsense up.

Clever. I have not made a clean install. But as a software developer I am telling you I do not want a system wide emulation layer just to run Intel apps.
