Back home I immediately tried again but oddly it got stuck at the loading screen like before. Turned out that disconnecting/disabling the Wifi was the reason and I finally made it into the game but the map was completely black.
After a major update it started normally but was still not optimised well enough to actually enjoy playing it.
Now it won't even bring up the loading screen anymore but I can't be bothered to look into it again. Even when it was running it always took quite long to get to the main menu.
I'm not sure if this will help you at all but if you find a solution, I'd surely like to know, thanks.
Edit: Just realised you maybe talking about Counter Strike 2 and not City Skylines 2 as I assumed, lol.
So if your playing on a MAC, you can't play as it is no longer a supported OS.
