how do i stop steam from pausing my game when i shift tab?
playing xcom 2 right now, the game is a super slow turn base and basically i have to wait for everyone to finish their turn which can take up a lotta time.:witch:

i thought i could just brows steam overlay but it pause the game, which is annoying because the game isnt super alt tab friendly

Hey! I totally get what you mean — XCOM 2 can take its sweet time between turns. Here's how you can stop the game from pausing when you open the Steam Overlay (Shift + Tab):

🔧 Try This Fix:
Go to your Steam Library

Right-click on XCOM 2 > Properties

Click General

Look for “Launch Options”

Paste this in the box:

-noPause

This tells the game not to pause when it loses focus, including when the Steam Overlay is up.

📝 Bonus Tips:
This doesn’t affect gameplay negatively; it just lets the game continue running while you're in the overlay.

You can still pause manually if needed.

If for some reason -noPause doesn’t work, check if you’re using mods or launchers like WOTC Mod Launcher — some configs override launch options and you might need to set it there too.
