You have a categories section at the top of the store page, you can browse that for game genres that you like to play, FPS, RTS, Co-op, etc. You could also browse the current sales on offer, the 'Featured Deep Discounts' on the main store page is one area.
You have a huge choice of games on Steam so it depends what type of games you like to play. Personally, I prefer FPS games so I play games like, Dying Light, Skyrim, Cyberpunk 2077, etc.
Games will usually use the native resolution of your monitor, for example, mine is 2560x1440, you can change this setting in most games.
