Yes. It started when I went to play my game the other day, and it said it was updating Steamworks Common Redistributables. Then it stopped at like 8% and I couldn't play the game. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and that seemed to fix it. But now today it did it again, and I cannot play my game again. Tried reinstalling again, but this time it didn't work and I can't even install the game now.
If you’re using an external drive the issue is with that rather then steam, use windows troubleshoot to fix it

none of the drives are external. it happened when the client updated earlier. i assume that they have finally blocked windows 7 access to games. good while it lasted. il have to test windows xp to see what that does.

You running windows 7? Like me? :D Before anyone goes on about security. blah blah blah. Comodo In paranoid mode is enough for anyone as long as not stupid.

I cannot help but think your post is a sort of joke? Id never even consider running a game from an external drive. I can only imagine the pain someone must get if they run a game from an external drive via a usb cable. it just makes no sense at all.
