My Account Was Almost Stolen by Steam's Own "Support" - A Warning to All Users
Hello everyone,

I'm writing this post to share a very frustrating experience I recently had with Steam Support and to warn you all about a serious flaw in their system.

My main email account, which was linked to my Steam profile, was locked by my email provider (O2) due to a inactivity policy they have.This is where the nightmare began.

Because I couldn't access my email, I couldn't use Steam. The support system, which is supposed to help in these situations, is completely broken and, in my opinion, predatory.

I spent hours trying to find a way to contact a real human. Every single path in their automated support loop was a dead end. To set up new e-mail and be able to use Steam again, system would ask for my username (falsy claim its invalid when i tryed to use this option) and sending verification code to my phone number did not work too. There was no clear option to provide proof of ownership, such as credit card details or game keys, which should be standard way to prove you own an account when you don't have access to your email.

It became clear to me that Steam's support system isn't designed to help you; it's designed to make you give up. It creates a digital wall that's nearly impossible for a legitimate user to climb. Single email provider's policy can lock you out of years of purchases.

Thankfully, I managed to regain access to my O2 email through a separate, long and difficult process. That was the only reason I was able to log back into my Steam account. This
experience showed me how vulnerable our accounts are to a flawed support system.

My warning to you all is this: Do not assume Steam will help you if you lose access to your primary email. Their support system is a trap.PREDATORY SCAM.They know email providers can ban/lock e-mails coz of inactivity-so Steam created fake support scam.they pretend there is a option to change your email but in fact it dont work.


Steam support system is scam.No human contact option plus broken automated support is spitting in users faces PREDATORY SCAM.
EDIT:FOR ALL WITH EXTREMLY LOW IQ-to all those who say "it has zero to do with Steam Support" and "i could find solutions online" etc.NO!its 100% fault of steam.there is ZERO solution,all solutions are broken and dont work as intended.what if my email got hacked?you would say its your fault not steam.your logic poor as hell.my post is about specific problem without solution(links you provide in comments are not valid options)PROBLEM IS-IF YOU LOSE YOUR EMAIL ACCESS YOU CANT LOG IN TO STEAM EVEN IF YOU HAVE YOUR STEAM PASSWORD AND ALL THE KEYS FOR YOUR GAME.you should be able to log in to your steam account if you have password/username/game keys.all links you show dont work as intended.path looks like this-i try to log in,give valid user name plus password.they send verification code to my email.i click i have no access to email.Steam reply-no problem, just give us your username or phone number and we will send you code via sms.SMS IS NEVER DELIVERED.dead end.no other way to change email or log in to steam.when you give them your real user name they say this user dont exist(witch is obvious bs)to change your email you need 3 things-username(dont work)e-mail(dont work in my case from obvious reasons)and phone sms(AND IT DONT WORK!tryed 3 days and never recived sms)
anticipating some stupid comments just make strong password to your email or pay for it good money that it will be never blocked,dont use free emails etc.its nonsense.thats not real life solution.in real life passwords can be lost by hardware failure or email provider can just stop providing email service from one day to another etc.there should not be dead end support loop like on steam.

If you only used one of the available guides, that step by step explains how you can regain access to your account, despite not having access to your email.

But I guess ranting on the forums is easier. :TiredAisha:
