did you buy a new computer or upgrade your existing computer if so you need to reinstall games

Thanks Sniper. No ...I did nothing. I shut down for dinner ...when I rebooted the Steam desktop shortcut did not work ...stating the shortcut is not working or a server issue. The server is fine. I got into Steam through file manager & it DID treat me like I was on another PC sent a code to enter via email. That got me into Steam ...my name, password & wallet is intact but EVERY game requires a RE-install now????

Shut down your PC or shut down Steam?

Where were Steam and the games installed? If it was an external source and it disconnected the shortcut was no longer relevant and neither were the games.

I think Nx nailed it. I run a RAID system of 5 drives. 2 are disconnected & used as backups.
The other three hold my OS & games. I use "D-drive" & it shut down (somehow).
How do I get them back? Thank you Nx Machina

Steam > Settings > Storage > Add the drive.

If it already exists point Steam to the top folder on the drive.

For example D:\SteamGames or whatever you have labelled it, and not the folder that actually has the games inside, the Common folder.
