Random bot rep
Has anyone else had a random bot give them +rep for no reason.

I didn't ask for it or anything, just sorta happened.

People do that for many reasons. It doesn't mean it is a bot.

It's just spam, simple as that, just delete it and be done.

Aside from that, it means nothing, it makes you look suspicious at best in my eyes having those in the comments. At least personally i avoid such profiles.

Because it's meaningless spam.

Got some random reps too, I remove comments like this. It makes your profile look suspicios, either like a scammer or CS GO dum dum

Yes, I'm guessing they're expecting you to return a "+rep" on their profile aswell. I know there are tons of "rep boost" groups where people gain insane amount of "+rep" comments from total strangers. Never understood the point of this.

Funny thing is, groups and such like that made me not trust "+rep" at all.
It's never been reliable obviously, but even less so now
is there actually anyone that sits back and counts these?

The +rep is useless as there is no way to track via Steam. It is nothing more than spam. Scammers tend to use it to try and make themselves look safe.
yeah, a lot of people will +rep others in the same groups to try to get some back.

like others have said, it doesn't do anything and +rep never meant much to begin with.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
