100 ban you win a perma ban! new rule proposal
It's possible to create a new rule where anyone who gets banned 100 times gets a permanent ban.
There are people who keep getting banned and, as repeat offenders, continue to behave in the same way.
Steam would be a better place without them.

If the power of suggestion were so easy...
Valve doesn't seem to care too much about the state of the forums, only that, legally, their bases are covered. Makes sense I guess, but sucks for the rest of us.

How long do bans go up to? 3 months? 6 months?

100 3-month bans is 25 years. I don't think anyone's hit that threshold yet.

I knew someone who had almost 100 parking tickets, but they did not take their driver licence away from him

Now, I do not know of people who got banned a 100 times, but I do not care much as you can just block and totally ignore certain poeple.

Nope, you do not need a license to park around here (unless the spot is owned, private, or assigned to a person/ license plate, etc.).
If you do not want to pay the fine directly, they can send it to your home adress for some extra charge, in the mean time you can just get as many parking tickets as you want, unless you find an officer having a bad day that will check some things and will tow it away.

steam block do not has any effect until those jester can still posting in your discussions.
anyway as a rule you do it once, forgiven, you do it twice, forgiven, but if you prove to be a repeat offender you become a plague for the community and then we can do without it

Do you have persecution mania? It's obvious you feel guilty.

It's precisely legally that there's a flaw, because under international law, if you prove you're a repeat offender, you're punished more and more severely.
100 bans is a lot, so considering this proposal would only distance the most problematic elements, the lost causes.

I might be wrong and if that's the case, feel free to correct me. But irc, I heard that racking tons of forum bans could eventually leads up to a community ban, which is more or less a permanent ban regarding Steam forums. Not sure if this is still - or even if it ever was - accurate tho.

There are already tons of bans, but they're meager 24-hour measures.
What I meant, that is, a permanent ban after 100 bans would only affect a few bad elements. I don't think the healthy Steam community accumulates more than 2 or 3 bans in their entire stay on Steam.
