Steam Summer Sale: June 26 – July 10
and before that
Fishing Fest: June 16 – 23
Sales are at "crap" time for many and "great times" for many others.
That's when the Demo fest would end is just before that. The week before the 26th is when the Steam Demo Fest should be followed by sale to continue the hype somewhat.
The fishing fest is just a very very small niche at that for those two fishing games.
You are forgetting the other event.
Isn't like people didn't know in advance. Valve posted the events almost a year ago.
What may be a good time for some, may not be a good time for others.
One could say the same for the Next Fest.
Look who knows so much about running Valve's wildly succesful business.
And who's projecting their own nonsense on to everyone.
The summer sale is only weeks away, people won't forget games they want to buy.
And people living paycheck to paycheck with what sounds like zero actual disposable income might not be Valve's primary demographic...
Plus they won't forget games they want, and there's always the next sale.... like the summer sale just weeks away.
My guess would be the OP thinks a lot of people are not at home until latter in the month and are out on vacation or doing other things. I know my son's last day for his freshman year was on the 3rd of June. Some plan vacations around that time.
Still, not a good reason to change the dates, imho, since there are many more that don't really go anywhere (I know we didn't, too crowded).
I think it has more to do with the free demos. Many often disappear after the Next Fest is over and some may not have had the time to download and play what they wanted (or all of them).
There are no valve / steam employees or staff, server techs, steam support, or moderators in the 2 steam related sub-forums. No one in this USER only sub-forum can help you.
Try posting your off topic rant suggestion, in I don't know, perhaps the suggestion sub-forum, where valve / steam staff can read your rant suggestion...

The world doesn't revolve around you, but around it's center of mass its core. Which is tilted, and that causes seasons. The same holds true of pay schedules. Different people get paid at different times. That being said this argument is entirely idiotic. If you have to wait till you get paid to buy a game. You shouldn't even be thinking about buying a game.
When you are that strapped for cash. You should be working on savings. Not being able to buy a game. Is nothing compared to not being able. To pay for unexpected car repairs. To pay for going to an emergency room. To pay for a major family emergency. To pay your rent if you lose a job. Their not being able to take full advantage of idiots. That's not a problem, but a real good thing.
If you are living hand to mouth. Should you be game shopping? That's obviously a rhetorical, and the answer should be no, and if it isn't an emphatic absolutely not. Then you need to be having an adult conversation. You know just in case other people is code for yourself. Otherwise yeah the argument is completely ridiculous. There's always some sale or other going on.
Gave you a treasure for saving my from having to look up the dates for the Summer Sale.
Some people need to learn that major crap happens in life and not all of us are born in an air kon gamer's basement. LOL .
Vidya is a luxury, not a necessity.
