There is a thread on this from 11th July which means it has been affecting different accounts.
Steam, top left. Settings. Downloads. Clear Cache.
Only this account, the one I am writing this with.
Close Steam.
Go to your steam folder.
Delete all without the "steam.exe", and the "steamapps" folder
Launch steam.
Have you tried logging in from a different box -- to see if it's account-related or box-related?
To make sure, I made a new steam account and tried to use it on my main computer and voila.. it works.
Has anything changed regarding stuff like anti-virus and such? Sounds like something is interfering/blocking and those can be culprits sometimes.
To make sure I even made a new account and that one works just fine, this issue started after a steam outage/update or whatever they did.
If the support team can’t help with my account that steam screwed up then I genuinely don’t know why they exist.
Sounds like some data in your account has screwed up. Certainly does not mean it's not local, mind.
that doesn't change what I said, though. It won't make Valve do anything or such.
If you want to get attention of the Steam devs, you need to post in the bug part of the Steam Beta hub. That's the place to report stuff, also on the main branche.
