Is the “loading data” issue fixed for anyone?
Still doesn’t work for me and steam support has been utterly useless, I have never had such a bad experience with any of my other game launchers.

Have you asked in the game discussion section for this certain game or contacted the game's developers/publishers?

It’s not a problem with a certain game. After logging in on the steam client , the process gets stuck at “loading data” and then that loops forever without opening the actual launcher.

There is a thread on this from 11th July which means it has been affecting different accounts.

Curiously, since not seeing the other thread, have you cleared Steam Cache to see if that resolves it?

Steam, top left. Settings. Downloads. Clear Cache.

I am not able to access that part of the launcher since the problem happens after trying to log in, besides I have used a completely different computer on a different network and the same issue occurs.

Only this account, the one I am writing this with.
you can made a brutal update.

Close Steam.
Go to your steam folder.
Delete all without the "steam.exe", and the "steamapps" folder
Launch steam.

Have you tried logging in from a different box -- to see if it's account-related or box-related?

I have tried logging into this account from a different physical box on a different network yet the issue persists.

To make sure, I made a new steam account and tried to use it on my main computer and voila.. it works.

Already done that, I even tried logging in on a new system but no luck.
Steam Support does not deal with technical issues, merely account & billing issues. So you might want to manage your expectations.

Has anything changed regarding stuff like anti-virus and such? Sounds like something is interfering/blocking and those can be culprits sometimes.

So why not post there rather than making a new post about the same thing?

Because more posts more attention, this is a really bad screw up by steam so they need to stop ignoring it.

Lol, no, that's not how things work. Quantity is irrelevant on Steam as this is a user-to-user forum, nothing more.

Dude, this is an account issue. I have already tried using a completely different physical box on an entirely different network yet it does not go past “loading user data”

To make sure I even made a new account and that one works just fine, this issue started after a steam outage/update or whatever they did.
If the support team can’t help with my account that steam screwed up then I genuinely don’t know why they exist.

The main threads go stale after some time, making a different thread gives the poster more direct answers.

That still is technical and not something that Steam Support deals with. They're just outsourced clerks that handle refund request and such things. Not technical stuff.

Sounds like some data in your account has screwed up. Certainly does not mean it's not local, mind.

that doesn't change what I said, though. It won't make Valve do anything or such.

If you want to get attention of the Steam devs, you need to post in the bug part of the Steam Beta hub. That's the place to report stuff, also on the main branche.
