Bioshock Games Region Locked?
I can't find any info on the store about these games being region-locked, and yet it says they are, after purchasing. I get the runaround through support. So, can't submit a ticket there. So, I have no idea what to do.

So you bought region locked keys knowingly or not.

Well, at least now you will have access after 90 days. That didnt exist once upon a time.
what region are you actually in?
what region is your account set to?
did you buy the game from steam or did you buy an activation key?
if you bought from a key site and they gave you the wrong key for your region, take it up with that sites support.

There is more than one "Bioshock" game, but in general MANY games have region-specific keys. The Steam store itself will only sell you the "correct" package for your region, and other stores will either offer you a package that works, or at least tell you whether something you are looking at will redeem in your country.

Yes.

Scroll down to Packages...

I was buying them as a gift for someone in another country. The packages thing is not on the store. That's in a database that's not even connected to Steam. So, there's no way to know it's region-locked until you buy it.

How did you purchase the game for someone in a different country?

Explain.

I guess it depends on the store.

As an example, "Fanatical" has a "Check regions" link on their store pages. It shows your region by default, but you can select another country to see whether it works there or not.

I don't know how reliable this is, or whether they also have an option to specifically buy a key for THAT country.

Also, every store is different.

It pretty much is; they are reading Steam data -- and they are pretty good at it.
