Yes, but since the volunteer moderators were replace with some 3rd party moderation company, I haven't seen any actually being implemented.

Also, you won't get a 'forum ban' but a 'community ban' that covers areas such as (but not limited to) all forums, reviews, screen shots and artwork.

It can be permanent, but you basically have to be a real bastard to get that.

If you get banned from multiple hubs in a short amount of time, you can get a permanent community ban.

No one knows exactly how many hubs or the amount of time to trigger it.
This is to prevent users from trying to toe the line and chest the system.

This thread reminds me of an old vent harassment video. Where the harasser cuts up what the victim says. To make it sound like they are saying they suck balls. Which naturally gets a mod to ban them for their trolling. Only to have the troll come back, and do the same thing to the mod. I totally posted it to the original posters comment section. If anyone else in this thread wants a real good laugh, and I suppose they were looking for something along those lines anyway.

Can you request a global ban/flush on an old account? Or do I have to say naughty things on every forum until they get fed up? I mean. I'll post pictures of my junk, it's all rusty and needs a lot WD40 to move some of it but I will post. Wait, I actually don't have junk, that's my Dad, I'll post pictures of a gtx 580.

Yes. With new moderation it takes multiple infractions though. They'd have to be severe as well.

You cannot request a ban. You can request to close an account down, assuming you still have access to it; this has to be done while logged into the account.

I was banned from SCUM discussions about 2 years ago for writing a lengthy post, linking articles and facts about the state of their game, promises not being kept, ect. ect. which got me instant perma ban for 'spreading false information' which wasn't false and looking back now after release of 1.0 was 100% accurate!


Also, if you build up enough temp bans, you'll be banned steam wide from discussions for some months, and if you keep getting bans, it gets bigger until I imagine they'll just not unban you.

You probably couldn't get a 100% accurate answer from Steam Discussions with your question as anyone who would have been perma banned wouldn't be able to reply to you unless they want to admit that they're using an alternate account to circumvent a ban.
