Dont see why people are complaining.
End of the day Steam/Valve got off lightly.
They sold porn to kids and most likely sold kiddie porn.
The owners of steam should be in prison, big fine and be put on sex offenders list. (Lest face it if it was you or me selling this crap to kids we already be in prison.
MasterCard has every right do what they did.
Some kid most likely used there mum/dads bank card to buy the porn games and MasterCard are sick of doing refunds.
Why not make it so the persons bank card has to match the name on steam account.
Steam/Valve know they stuffed up big here and they got off lightly.

Odd bait. You must be at least 13 years old before you can create an account and NSFW games are hidden by default.

Your inability to supervise your children isn't gaben's fault.

It isn't. Valve follows current age verification laws. They do not store the age of any user and have tools that allow parents to completely control what an account sees.

I bet steam doesnt have anything to stop kids buying 18+ gaming or rated M+ games either and those are whats next to be scrapped. Until steam fixes this problem beware all games are in firing line.

You act like anything has changed. Steam currently sells over 8000 "porn/adult only" games.
They removed about 20-30 with "incest" in the title.
That is ALL that happened. All other games are still available to buy for everyone.

The Itch.io situation is way more serious but Steam basically did absolutely nothing, they removed 0.00001% of the porn games they sell and said "see we did something".
Also all the games they removed were absolute bottom tier porn games who basically nobody bought in the first place.

It isn't illegal for someone under 18 to buy an M rated game.
me personally couldn't care never brought or played a porn game.
I just saying how it is coming from a law side of things steam/valve are ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
They sold porn to kids and allowed kiddie porn to be sold on the platform.
Trust me this is only the beginning for steam its not over by far, law enforcement just collected evidence atm.

Steam requires age verification and that's what's legally required just like every other game store page does.

Beyond that it falls on the parents to monitor what their kids do.

It's not a genuine comment. Just trying to get a rise out of people.

There never was any "kiddy porn" on the platform, that is just nonsense.
Steam never allowed porn games with characters that even look underage, they did not allow Japanese Hentai games that are set in schools or with characters in school uniform and they never allowed porn games with real actors.

Also the group that protested and got those games removed never accused Steam of selling "kiddy porn" , only of incest and rape focused games and thats what they are protesting.
At least inform yourself over the topic you try to trollbait with.
people only stick up for steam cause you all scared of losing your accounts and games.
<THEY SOLD PORN TO KIDS = ILLEGAL AS ♥♥♥>

Actually Steam did nothing wrong. Porn content is age gated and deactivated by default.
If some kid lies about their age and activates the porn content without the parents even supervising what they do on the internet then legally the parents are responsible for the actions of their children.

Thats how adult content on the net works in general, Steam is not your babysitter, if you dont want to parent your kids and supervise what they do on the net thats entirely on YOU.

Oh i know, but i love beating trolls to death with facts and not giving them the rage + jester they desire.
Just staying calm and refuting their nonsense is usually enough so they quit and go away.
