STEAM account recovery ~ hitting the wall
Situation: I changed my phone device and used data transfer and factory reset during the process. The new Steam Guard requires information from the old device.

At first, I tried resetting via SMS, but after waiting for over 30 minutes without receiving a message, I attempted to resend it several times. Eventually, my account got locked.

Message shown: "You have reached the maximum number of account recovery attempts. Please try again later or use a different recovery method."

After that, I looked into possible solutions, but all the responses were automated messages. The general content asked me to provide:

Purchase information from January 2020 (which is too long ago, and I really can’t find it),

The original email address used to create the account.

Here’s the problem: I changed the original email about three years ago and can’t remember the old email address.

So I’d like to ask: is there any way that I or Steam can retrieve or show a part of the original email address to help jog my memory?

Also: over the past 3–4 years, I’ve consistently used the same email, phone number, and made purchase records on this account. Can none of that be used as proof? It seems Steam only accepts information related to the original registration, and nothing else.

Steam Account Recovery

It is possible to recover a Steam account. You don't need access to the email, phone or password currently tied to the stolen account for this to work.

The recovery process allows you to contact Steam Support to provide proof of ownership.

Follow this guide to recover your account:

Actually, it doesn't. Worst case scenario: you use your backup code(s).

You know... the ones Steam tells you to keep safe as soon as you activated 2FA, aka Steam Guard?

That doesn't happen after only one or two failed attempts.

As mentioned: backup codes, the one you were told to keep safe. When that fails for whatever reason the only thing I can point you to is this guide:
