Are newest NFS games good?

Some offers are quite tempting now, but I've been hearing for a while that Need For Speed games aren't what they were years ago.
I dunno anything about these modern games but I'm looking for something remotely similar to what Underground 2 was, which one should I buy and try then?

None are anywhere close to Underground 2.

I am a sim racer that started on the original NFS 1 and 2 eventually racing motorcycles irl before getting into sim racing.

My suggestion for you: get into sim racing if you care for skill, or get Forza Horizon 5 for open world racing without cops.

The last NFS I think you'd like is either Carbon or MW, forgot which one was last.
