Major playablity issues.
During the last week I have tried to play many of my purchased games and all have had major stability issues. I've gone through my system checking for issues, updates and even reinstalled games like Masters Orion, SM Railroads Panzer General Bendy series Amikog Monkey Island.. No matter what I run they will freeze, disconnect or not load. There is no repeatable issue and I never get Steams notice to report what you were doing when the game failed.

Anyone else experiencing these issues. Going to try BG3 and PIllars next. Just havent been in s D&D mode these past weeks.

It's most likely a hardware or driver issue. Does this happen on non-Steam games and have you experienced any problems just running the PC normally?
I have played some of the games on DOSbox and other sites with no issues I can see. It's just on steam. In normal use or with Microsoft I haven't noticed any issues. Running Win10 but thinking on going to Linux. Used to be programmer/analyst back in the day on UNIX and up to Win95 using Framework and DBase. Used package called PCNIX back in the 8088/8086 days.
Video driver or if a laptop make sure that the proper video card is being used for the games.
As others have said, the most common issue is it's choosing the wrong gfx card or driver issue.

First thing to try is to go to your gfx card's utility and force it to choose the correct options for Steam and/or the games in question.

And of course, make sure your drivers are up to date.

Oh and while it's a long shot, don't forget to update your audio card drivers too. Because of how utilities like DirectX work that affects performance too.

Lastly, make sure to check each game's individual forums on here as traditionally older games on Steam often don't get the proper support that they do for say, GOG releases. So there may be fixes or updates.
