Video games are dead
After experiencing the early days of video games and playing almost every console and computer, I'm now retiring from video games. Do you know why ?

I have a beast of a PC and I don't have a ONE game to play...

All games, and I mean ALL games, are mind-bogglingly mediocre.

Thank you, finance, for entering the world of video games, and also football, with always the same result : a disappearance of the soul for the profit, the term is well chosen, of maximum $$$.

That's YOUR opinion.
One that millions around the world disagree with.

Edit: to who ever gave me the jester, thanks for the free points.
I don't see it as an insult, as I'm not offended by pixels on the screen.

And yet he has the irrefutable right to have that opinion!!!
You've reviewed 51 games, and a lot of those reviews are positive, so I find it unlikely that you don't have, quote, "a ONE game to play..."

Well sometimes people grow out of hobbies. Plus the games industry is still evolving, expecting that to stop on your personal golden age is a bit naive.

And even if 2025 games don't apoeal to you there's decades of classics you haven't played. But doesn't sound like you're intrtested on those games either. Which is why I think this is a you're sick of your hobby problem, not a games problem.

Never said he didn't have that right.
Just that many people won't agree with his opinion.

It is a kind of useless to comment "well people have different opinions" or something similar. It may be a better idea to ask the OP about what game they are playing, and then see if you can find something similar for them to play, especially when you're off the opinion that "gaming isn't over yet".
Let the industry evolve backwards, just go live your life and do something else. For example I'm playing a 12yo FPS because there isn't a single decent FPS these days.

Sounds like you need a new hobby, OP. And I don’t think it’s to do with today’s game developers.
After experiencing the early days of video games and playing almost every console and computer, I'm as happy as ever about video games. Do you know why ?

Because I've never had so many games available I'd like to play.

People can get burnt off a hobby and leave it, happens to everyone, I've been there and done that.

I'd advise OP to look away and he may find more interesting stuff. We're often victim of our own biases and we miss good things because of our own prejudices.

But he's fine and dandy if he wants to leave. No sense in keep doing something you no longer find fun.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The vibe i'm getting he's looking for something modern that will justify what he spent on that 'beast of a machine'.

Which is all well and good. . People like me keep finding more and more games to play.

Oh yes there is...

They recently added a Blue Shift Mod.
Sounds like you just need a break. Find other hobbies to enjoy and when you feel an itch to get back into it, give it another go.

I need to beat the last level Nihilanth and then try out the Blue Shift mod.

Would've been wise to spend the money on something you would have enjoyed instead of somehow going through the early days of gaming, seeing what little pc had to offer you during that time, yet still decided to migrate it years later. On the plus side at least you are enjoying alien fireteam elite.
