Steam Client
I don't know why I am having so many problems connecting to my account. I believe my best solution is to buy games that don't require steam. I am going to attempt to sell the games I have that require steam back the respective developers. I just give up. It is so frustrating to have bought a game but can't play it because of the steam client not connecting. I think publishers should give an alternative way of activating games. Such as a phone number you can call to get the activation code. I also believe that once the game has been activated this should be the only time it has to be done. Instead the Developers/Publishers program their games to connect and verify EVERY TIME before allowing us to play the game. Therefore, when a problem occurs that prevents connecting to the steam client we are unable to play a game that we have already proven to have legally purchased. I realize that there will be times when the Steam Client screws up but it takes so long to get it fixed . I have purchased the game therefore I should be able to play it whenever I want. Not having to hope the steam client is working. I got a new game before Christmas and have yet been able to play it because the steam client cannot connect to my account so I can install it. I have sent the same question 3 times now because the website support doesn't retain the information I have given to prove I am who I say I am. Every time it tells me that I either have a new browser or it has been a while since I have been there. So, it sends me an email with a code that I must enter to prove I am me. It doesn't matter whether I was there this morning or yesterday or last week or whenever, it keeps telling me the same thing and sending that damn code. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't keep dumping the question. But my question is not there when I go back. So, I have to post it again. Which, of course I can't do anything about because as far as I know there is no other way to contact support. I can't contact them to let them know about the website problem.

Hopefully, you can see my frustration and why I just want it to be over by just getting rid of everything that deals with steam. Games, the client, Valve Corp., etc.

Thanks for listening,

Paul

Changing one form of drm for another does not solve the drm issue. The software still needs an activation of somesort.

What happens when the phone line goes down?

Why are you unable to enter the code into the steamguard pop up?

Are you talking about a physical game that requires Steam, or did you purchase it through Steam?

Website support?

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
