That would be really hard, since nearly every game is working with DirectX 9 at least. Even the latest smartphones doesnt support DX9 yet, but everything is and will be possible - who knows...

I think what hes asking for is a steam app store on android, so you could buy android games on steam like Angry Birds. I dont think its technically possible though because 3rd party app stores arent allowed unless a device is jailbroken / rooted

Steam is a PC platform though, I don't want it on Android.

Yes it is 100% possible for Valve to start selling Android games, but you're far from the first one to mention it.

Dont know about iPhones but there are a few App stores to download within Google's own store, but maybe you still pay through Google iv'e not tried them.

To the post you quoted mobile phones like the Galaxy S2 with the PowerVR SGX540 support DX10.1 with Shader Model 4.1, Tegra 2 supports DX9 while Tegra 3 supports DX11, also any phone with Mali-T604 and onwards support DX11, so there is quite a few DX phones out there plus OpenGL 4.1 (OpenGL ES 2.0 for mobiles) is on par with DX11.

Very true about the the Tegra chips which are being pumped out in most popular and high end androids phones now. 2 main ones being HTC one X and the Samsung Galaxy SIII. Keep in mind that google is putting the tegra chip in their tablets as well so this is a pretty large capable user base. Now if Valve would do what they always do and release amazing things they will also create a mobile game. Such as Angry Birds but I have no doubt that Valve could do better. Kind of how they moved to Mac, they can do that to mobile, although it would most likely be a new game.

As far as i konw the S3 has a quad A-9 but a Mali-400MP GPU so no DX on that phone, but im sure Sream could have source games running no problem, remember Mac OS is practically Linux same with Andriod and the Mac games are OpenGL anyhoo.
