VAC bans Steam Accounts. Not IP or HARDWARES.

Pretty much this. Does it really need an official statement if "It's a horrible idea" is obvious to anyone with a clue on that topic? The thing is, clue is gainable. Technical literature is a thing, it exists. Knowing stuff isn't a matter of having opportunities, it's a matter of will.

You can close this thread. I had read on other forum something about valve official statement and wanted to verify it. I know what I wanted. That was a ♥♥♥♥ talk :D

If you searh this forum and others, for simply "HWID" and/or "IP" bans, you will see how often they have been brought up here as an alternative to bans, unless you did search and did see.

They just don't work, or do work, but ban the wrong people.

One important thing when it comes to account bans......you want to be a sure as possible that you are banning the right accounts.

And that is what VAC does.
