VAC Ban shouldn't be permanent if someone steals your account
Yes, it's my fault for not securing my account better, but I shouldn't be punished for it.

It's like if someone stole something from me, I'd go to the police and end up being punished for it.

But it doesn't make sense to me

It's easy to fake an account hijacking

Yes, but steam can see who logged in from where, right? So he can assess that he's actually been hacked
account cheats, account gets banned. you are not banned and can make a new account and start over in the game if you wish. cheaters would simply trade accounts to claim it was stolen to get the ban removed.

And it's easy for people to trade accounts to cheat on, or use a VPN.

I don't think it's that easy

Simple.

Because cheaters ruined the it wasn't me. It was the hacker excuse a long time ago

....and your account was stolen because you gave away the account login info somewhere. It's the only way a Steam account gets hijacked.

If you get banned as a long time player and you have expensive skins in there you can't just fix it by creating a new account

It is that easy and it's EXACTLY why the policy is the way it is.

Skins are in-game commodities. They hold no real value, as they never should.

You agreed to this when the account was created:

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login and password and for the security of your computer system. Valve is not responsible for the use of your password and Account or for all of the communication and activity on Steam that results from use of your login name and password by you, or by any person to whom you may have intentionally or by negligence disclosed your login and/or password in violation of this confidentiality provision.

and here:

I was not using my account when it was VAC banned. Can the ban be removed?
No. Any bans added to an account will remain regardless of who was using the account at the time the infraction occurred. Ultimately, the use and security of your Steam account are your responsibility.

While we understand this can be frustrating, we must maintain a zero tolerance policy for cheating to foster a fair game that all players will enjoy.

if you have expensive skins, then you should also be looking at keeping the account secured. far too many people only care about the security of their account after the bad things happen.

all 3rd party sites are USE AT OWN RISK
you are responsible for what is on the computer(s) your account uses

Unfortunately, we are in such a time when unreal things are worth more than the real things that are actually needed

I never used 3rd party sites because I never trusted them like cs2 opening case sites :D

Read what Wolf said again....also, an expensive inventory doesn't stop anyone from cheating.

Any value given to skins or whatever other item in CS2 that is OUTSIDE of the Steam Marketplace is unintended. There's a reason Valve discourages this kind of practice.
