I was unfairly banned from Dota 2 for sharing a PC with my siblings. I've never used had-party programs.
Hi everyone, I really need someone to hear my case.

I was recently banned in Dota 2 with a VAC ban for no valid reason, and I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve never used any hacks, scripts, or third-party software. I’ve never shared or lent my account. I’ve always played clean.

The only possible reason might be that my two brothers and I share a single computer, because we can’t afford more than one. Each of us has their own account, and we just take turns playing or sometimes face each other. We don’t cheat — we just don’t have the money for multiple PCs.

I’ve been playing Dota since 2014, back in high school, and now at 22 years old, it’s still a big part of my life. It’s one of the few ways my brothers and I can relax and enjoy time together after long days of work or study.

It breaks my heart to lose everything I’ve invested — all the hours, progress, and memories — just because the ban system flagged me unfairly. It’s frustrating that sharing a computer automatically gets treated like cheating.

Is it a crime to be poor? Is it fair to be punished without proper investigation?

I’m begging someone at Valve to look into this personally. I just want to play fair like I always have

If you speak the truth and triggered the smurf ban system of DotA 2 by accident, contact support to have them review your account's standings as per this reddit thread:

However, their decision on this appeal will be final.
