VAC Ban on My Account After It Was Hacked
Subject: VAC Ban on My Account After It Was Hacked

Hello Steam Support,

I recently regained access to my Steam account after it was hacked and out of my control for about a year. When I finally recovered the account, I noticed that it had received a VAC ban.

I believe the ban was issued while the account was compromised and not under my control. I had no access to the account during that time and did not engage in any form of cheating or violation of the rules.

Could you please review the activity during the time the account was hacked? I would appreciate any information you can provide about the ban and the possibility of resolving this issue.

I have already updated my password and enabled Steam Guard for better security.

Thank you for your help and understanding.

Good thing it isn't a VAC ban.

It is a permanent Game ban issued by VacNet for cheating, griefing or boosting though.

GAME bans specific to CS2. Have a read...

Valve explains it concisely in the Steam Subscriber Agreement:

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login and password and for the security of your computer system. Valve is not responsible for the use of your password and Account or for all of the communication and activity on Steam that results from use of your login name and password by you, or by any person to whom you may have intentionally or by negligence disclosed your login and/or password in violation of this confidentiality provision.

VAC? No.

The account has a GAME ban.

Game bans have nothing to do with VAC or this forum.

Users are responsible for the security of the account and all activity on the account.

Hello Sandy,

I recently read your post. The ban is permanent, you are responsible for the security of your account. It does not matter who was in control of it when it earned the ban

There will be no review of the account.

The forums are not the way to contact anyone from steam support. No one from steam will post on the forums except the forum moderators, and they only post why they are locking a thread. Steam Support will be unable to remove or investigate the game ban, they have nothing to do with game or vac bans.

For more information about your ban and the policies about game/vac bans, click the INFO link on your profile in the ban notice.

Thank you for you understanding.

I wonder what would happen if a lot of us tell chatgpt with the knowledge that steam does not do unbans so chatgpt should stop making appeals for them.
weird how you can ask it to say something horrible and it will actually tell you "no that's not nice and i will not do that" but somehow it keeps spewing out steam appeal after steam appeal..

Response Regarding VAC/Game Ban Appeal

Hi there,

I understand this situation must be frustrating, but it’s important to clarify a few key points:

ChatGPT cannot remove or alter VAC or game bans.

According to Steam policy, VAC and game bans are permanent and non-negotiable, regardless of who was using the account at the time.

Steam holds users responsible for the security of their own accounts. If your account was compromised and used for cheating, the ban will still stand.

You've taken the right steps by securing your account with a new password and Steam Guard, but unfortunately, past bans remain in place.
