Ok, Steam we need to have a little chat about your Steam Guard system...
Took me 3 hours to get back into my account because It kept asking me to input a stupid code into a stupid app that I don't have and never asked for... Literally had to restart my computer completely to FINALLY get steam to ask for the code directly on my PC.

Maybe put "submit Steam Guard code" as an option in your account settings or something and next time don't sign people up for something they didn't ask for and don't have...

Also, love how it said I "signed in from a new device" when it's literally the same one I've been using for 2 years just because I restarted the thing while you were doing maintenance...

Is restarting your computer really that big of a deal?
Steam Guard has nothing to do with VAC or this forum.....nor does maintenance... which has been EVERY Tuesday for years.
Just frustrating trying to get it to sign in and it not giving me any prompt to do so. So honestly just venting, they really aught to put a button or trigger a prompt when you press "go online".

apologies, didn't really see any place it would be specifically relevant and this is the closest thing to it I could see, and yes I know that maintenance is Tuesday, just happened to restart during maintenance and it seemed to mess up whatever Steam does to recognize your device.

Again....every Tuesday for years, Do you really think only your account went offline during maintenance... ?

No, no that's not what I'm saying.

I'm saying that when I tried to log back in it thought I was on a "new device" and proceeded to not elaborate at all or even ask me for the Steam Guard code, I had to check my email to figure out what was going on. Then spent about 3 hours looking for a way to contact help to no avail before finally giving up and restarting my computer again for it to FINALLY work.

Ok? That's what happens when Steam goes down for maintenance.

:steamthis:

That.
The other 6 things Steam has taught me over the years

don't use the built in backup function
don't buy early access titles
don't pre-order ANY game
don't bother to run the "beta" (basically, don't be a beta tester) of anything Valve builds
don't expect anything but "we are unable to duplicate the issue" when you do beta test for them
don't get used to anything as sooner or later, they will change it and usually, not for the better...

The 7 things to always remember when using Steam...

and 1 more, most important:

Every update of anything will have more bugs and "regressions" than the update is meant to fix.

Also don't expect the paid mods in this forum to know the difference between a VAC ban and a game ban. :neoncool:
