Your best bet would be a marketplace (something that of eBay or something). I haven't seen a electronics retailer that has sold laptop GPUs--as far as I've seen.

Depending on how you use and configure it, yes. I was able to use the XB1 headset as a Mic plugging it in via through the controller.

I have not ran into a game that wasn't compatibile. That said, I'm not sure what whomever stated games weren't compatibile with the Alpha. Some may not be able to run at max settings but certainly not compaitible. So, I'm not sure what they meant exactly -- unless they were talking about VR games as the R1 Alpha isn't VR ready due to the GPU 860M+ but the R2 Alpha is with the Graphics Amplifier.

Hi I was wondering if there was a way to tell which games were compatible with the Alpha because I've heard some games aren't compatible with it. I am buying one from Dell website or eBay and I will get a 360 controller with it. I'm just checking to make sure my games are compatible with it.

Does anybody know the video card in the i7 variant?

I had a few problems with my rear USB ports not working properly when I first got my Alpha but after ALienware released the bios update the issue has since been resolved do you know if you have the latest bios?

I'm having interference using anything but USB ports in front. I have i7 launch model upgraded to the max. It's been doing it since birth.

Anyone else having trouble keeping a USB 3.0 external hard drive connected to the back ports? Randomly disconnects. Any ideas?

Is it safe to overclock cpu and memory with the alienware alpha.

I cant get spin tires to work on my alpha , it will open and bring up the menu but I cannot see the pointer to select play or anything, won't work with the steam controller or mouse.

No worries, it happened to a lot of us -- and the same feeling too.

@slyfuldragon , That worked , thanks . I know it doesn't matter but I was worried something was wrong.

@TxBrahmaBull, did you have it in sleep mode during a power outage? If so, try to force it to sleep in HiveMind UI, then wake it back up and it should show up. Restart the console to make sure it saves -- the AlienFX gets stuck in a glitch after a power hit.

I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out why my alien head won't light up when I'm on the hivemind ui , I have to manually turn it on when I'm on the desktop mode , but when I switch back to hivemind it will go off during log on then not come back on. As long as I'm in desktop it will stay on.

Not sure if everyone is aware but most games stream data from the hard drive whilst you play, so having a slow hard drive is a no no. Do yourself a favour and upgrade to an SSD and enjoy an excellent performance upgrade, whichever processor you have. I fitted a 240GB and bought an external USB 3 hard drive case which houses the drive I replaced, so I have all the capacity and speed for a great rig and for a relatively low price.

@RaWrAgExLOL No problem. Sounds good. It is the newest public update as of December 15 2015. I believe that may be a part of the Beta. either way, if dell doesn't have the most public up-to-date version, it'll automatically update it for you in the background.

@RaWrAgExLOL It will not affect any of your games. You can simply uninstall the Alpha UI via Control Panel.

Then, uninstall Alpha UI, restart, then install the HiveMind UI you manually downloaded. You should be all set. Let us know.

Hi guys I'm new to steam and PC gaming so I need a little bit of help if that's ok?

I got the Alienware Alpha i7 version and I'm having trouble trying to download the new update for Hivemind, when I click download it goes from 0% to download again so it won't do anything, is there anyway around this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm just wondering of Fallout 4 can run on the core i3 model with the 8 gig ram?

Im doing all high settings now in 720p and the only hiccups are on the final segement of the hoth battle. The good news is DICE knows about it and it will probably be fixed on retail.

Well i never tried to change the settings ;P. maybe i should? haha

wow i3 and 8 gigs lol. i have less ram than you and an i3 and i can do high med settings.
